TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Morning Gents!
I nodded off last night and missed the discussion - my apologies. The mechanic I spent some time with gave me a dissertation on hydraulics and leak down of lifters. When I asked if that was it, he said he couldn't be sure. I think Greg is right. They know what it is but don't want to admit it it because they defaulted to "the stupid customer is hearing things" on the first pass. Now that I stood there and made them acknowledge the noise the mechanic is saying it's not the same noise from the first time. But the first time they said they didn't hear anything out of the ordinary.
We'll see where it goes. My bad for not bringing it back to them immediately when I heard it after picking it up.

Hey, Bob....in 15-20 yrs , you won't hear any of those noises. Last inspection, only mechanic at dealer that I want working on my bike, says " You have an exhaust leak at the head, I snugged it up, it's better but it's still there. I passed it anyway. " . he starts it up and says ' hear that?"..looked at him and said " I don't hear much most of the day, Sure as hell can't hear that"
