I despise this win 10 desktop I'm using. I've had the morning "configuring your computer" take over an hour at least twice, several minutes many times. Once, it rebooted right in the middle of something, lost what I was doing, and took over two hours to upgrade and configure. How the hell do businesses use this crap. I've turned off updates every way I can find on the internet, and it keeps going back to default. My first winter project will be getting the Linux 'puter set up.

Makes life so much easier.
Nothing changes here except how much I get paid to be here.

I tried Red Hat (I think) many moons ago, when you had to set up the partitions, figure out a driver that would work with your video/sound/all the other cards, and nothing about it was intuitive. Didn't stick with it. Not long ago, tried a bootable DVD that had a browser, image viewer and some basic utilities, was easy to use, although the video driver was less the half the resolution my monitor can do (3840x2160 looks best on it, can do 4096x2160). I was leaning towards trying Ubuntu, but a lot of Linux sites are recommending Mint to start with. Guess I could try a dual boot system with both of them, but that seems over complicated this soon.

Good Morning Mick, Doc, Greg, and the later arriving woods.
Looks like a bunch of folks slept in on hump day.
