Day pretty much used up at Carol's house, rebuilt the kitchen faucet, new washer in front outside faucet, and figured out how to stop the decrepit water softener from recycling long after the salt was gone (unplug it ), and how to bypass it so the house water didn't keep running through it. Rear outside faucet is beyond redemption, I'll have to replace it, will get a freeze proof with a shark bite end so I can just cut the inside copper at the right length and slide it on. Didn't take long to figure out her internet browser was ok, doesn't have internet coming to her DSL modem. Provider needs to fix that. Driving home with the truck in a good rain took off the last of the hayfield mud, so I got something accomplished today.

Teflon tape isn't sealing it so I am thinking pipe dope is in order.

Frostless spigot make into a copper female.

Any other suggestions from the TOAK?
Might be late for this suggestion, the easiest way to install a freeze proof faucet I've heard of. Just cut the inside pipe to the right length and slide it on. Works on PEX line, too - claimed, I've never worked with that to see myself.

When I did mine several years ago, didn't have this style freeze proof, got a sharkbite with a female threaded end. This lets you tighten it down real good, don't have to just do the best you can to keep the spigot handle upright which can be not quite tight enough sometimes.

I think this is over 10 years old now. I love these things, no solder, no torch near wood. If it ever does leak, there's a little tool to slide them off, slide on a new one.

I'm certain you don't want to hear the voices I hear.

I’m happy to report, no noise was produced that wasn’t there before.

So what do they think it is, Bob?

My bet is they already know but don't want to own up to it.

Moldy, you had a bust day. I can't say I envy you lol.

Greg, I'm sure you're right about that.

Goodnight all. Got my video editing software on the new comp so I can get back to editing videos. When my other comp I lost my progress, so I'll have to start over, but I have the footage so that's good. Nighty night. Thanks for everything as always.
