TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Evening gents. Long day. Lots of yard work and took my first stab at restoring the BMW rims. Gonna be some work. Also went to the dealership and made sure they heard the ticking noise. They did now that the ESP has expired and now they don't know what to make of it. Great. They're going to open the oil filter to check for shavings.

That's why they paint cars different colors, my friend.
Thanks guys. I hope they do right by me too. I have it documented that it was brought in for that noise under ESP. They even replaced the lifters thinking that may cure the issue. The mechanic tried telling me it was a different noise than the one they heard the first time, which is BS. It's the exact same noise under the exact same circumstances. Fortunately I described it in detail the first time around, which is the same way I described it this time. We'll see. What I do know is that unless they cover it, they won't be doing the work.
And we have a winner! Let's tell him what he's won! An all expense paid, two night three day stay at our lovely TOAK!

Oh yeah, what color?
I did. Real and imagined. I brought it to them last Fall for the ticking noise and I told them, my warranty is expiring in June. I want you to go over the bike with a fine toothed comb. All they came back with was a leaking rocker gasket. The lifters fell under maintenance, so I paid for that, an ABS brake system flush, a fuel filter, and a battery. I've given them plenty of money. I think they need to consider that.
As I read what I've wrote I am not saying that your noises are imaginary. Just in case someone though that.
Quite a few of them are the color of Al's bike.
