Do you have to pre-fit all the stones before you place them?

Yeah, pretty much. Can't do too many since they really don't 'stack' very well on one another. Took a while to find the right technique to get them to stay in place once they're mortared in. A lot of small thing s that masons know and that i had to learn.

Yeah, but the guys that do it everyday will look at a hundred pieces laying there and pick the right one in seconds. It's just a slow process. looking forward to doing the other set now that I'm "experienced"...
