Lady friend has some pistols that might not have been cleaned in the last century or two.

According to the 'net, this was a common Navy sidearm that was in use in the Civil War. This one looks like it had a lot of use, whenever that was. The biggest one has German writing engraved on it, other than that, no information on the others.

These would make big holes! Wonder what the recoil was like. You can see thick carbon deposits in the brass barrel on the left, none of these look like they were cleaned after firing several rounds. Been stored at least 60 something years like this.

Good Morning Woodbutts!

Performed an exorcism last night. Heard there were spooks around.

Had a lot of small trees on this lot when I moved here, had I known what a mess and the problems they'd cause, I would have cut every single one of them right away. Have 4 I can't handle, and they'd cost a few thousand each to remove to have a cutting team do it. Never thought back then I'd have trees spreading out 30' above the power lines.

I just share the house with mine. Only bother me when they toss my tools on the floor. Used to think I just forgot I put them there till I saw a wrench shoot off the top of a freezer and land a dozen feet away.

This is a Remington Rolling Block action. Post Civil War era cartridge pistol. Most of the rolling blocks were rifles but they did contract some pistols. You pull back the hammer and then the rolling block which allows you to insert the round. Then you close the block and it can be fired.

Afternoon Al, Don, Moldy amd Mark!

Cool old guns Moldy. Does she have any history on them? Family heirlooms or any back story to them?
