My dually only has 28,000 on it and it hasn't hit its potential yet, I did see 18 mpg running empty one day but changed tires to AT type tires and haven't seen it for a while, I use to get 22 mpg on my single rear wheel trucks.. but didn't happen till I was over 30,000 miles..

Yup.. Diesels turn slower RPm's take longer to break in...

I am supposed to tow a backhoe up North soon.. it weighs in at 13,000 lbs, dunno what the trailer weighs but I have a combo registration good for 26,000, might be close, my truck weighs 9200 with full load of fuel, my tool box, 5th wheel hitch and me in it.
