come to think of it, if I’m recalling my history correctly, they had security even before the first century. The Temple Guard. They carried swords and spears.

I was in an early advanced program in 7-8th grades, hated it. More homework, actually had to study sometimes to make decent grades while buddies in the regular courses just breezed through like lazy me wanted to do. Hope they're better now, then it was a way to drop A students to B's and C's. I did half a semester (before I got so bored I dropped out) in an Arkansas college that was less advanced than those two school years. The Illinois college I'd gone to previously was far beyond high school, a real challenge. That Arkansas college was one of the reasons I moved to Minnesota; Arizona job went away, had a job choice 'tween here and Atlanta. No way I was going to put my daughter in a Southern school; some of those Arkansas college students were failing at what I considered 7th grade level at best. That was in the '60s, hopefully the situation got better. But if I had the same MN/Atlanta choice today, I'd still be here.
