TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Actually I thought every version after win98 got less user friendly. Too bad it crashed so often...
Besides win7 taking a dump, or maybe because of it, I think the motherboard has an issue. Couldn't get it to read the boot up drive (solid state hd), even got a mbr bad message at one point, which worried me a bit. Piggybacked the drive to this puter, and it reads fine. Next is hooking up a bigger harddrive than the one I'm on and backing up the win7 drive, then putting win7 on a smaller mechanical drive on this box, since I won't be using it for much (wood swap drive cables to avoid any contamination from the others). Another small (like 250gb) drive with Linux on the suspect box and the grandkid can trash that with online games as much as he likes. And a big disk Linux for everything else and general web surfing on this puter, to switch out with the win7 when I want that, and tax and money stuff on a smaller Linux disk to use nothing else on. Have I got everything covered? Later plan, new mb in the box that misbehaved with USB 3 on it, two I've been using are still USB 2. That one is only 3 years old, usually get a lot more than that out of them. Now that you're the only one left reading, Mark, how ya doing?
