TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Damn, and here I thought I was gonna be some hero.
I thought I was on his trail. I saw droppings, followed them then discovered I didn't know Jack ****.
No, oddest thing....a trail of discarded tiny umbrellas.
Interesting to see the habits of a feral Jack. It is becoming rutting season in Whiskey Falls.

Glad you mentioned that. My field guide tells me that season is from Jan 1 until Dec 31 each year. As a side note, I understand there is no limit and a tag is not required.
It’s a long season for sure but this time of year the feral Jack must surely be feeling his oats. There is the distinct possibility that he has been ensnared by BD again. As has been his habit previously to disappear during those interludes.
Maybe it's as simple as hiding in a tree stand, utterly silent and waiting to pounce once the prey is in sight?
