The missus and I witnessed a pretty bad accident on the way home from lunch and furniture shopping. We were tooling along when a minivan pulled out from the side street on the right side of the road in front of the car that was ahead of us. The car ahead of us started tracking to the left and the minivan appeared to hesitate but then gassed it right on out into the path. The car t-boned right into the drivers door so hard the minivan teetered up onto two wheels. All the airbags went off in the minivan but that did not stop them from just driving off. I did a u-turn and went to try and catch up to get a tag number but buy the time I got spun around they had went down the street made a turn, got back out onto the state road and were gone. The minivan was pretty messed up and I doubt they got far. I went back and waited for the deputy. I gave them a statement and went on my way.
Looks like we are in the cone of uncertainly with this soon to be Hurricane Ian. A little early but the weather guessers are saying there is nothing to steer the storm any differently than is now predicted. They say a Cat 2 and will somewhere on the west coast of Florida. Should not be that big of a deal but all storms can be dangerous and cause issues. I am ready other than picking up some gasoline for the generator.
