Close inspection of the VIN plate on the engine case appears the VIN was intentionally obliterated. Some characters appear partially present. I will polish the area and use a solution of sodium hydroxide and deionized water that I just happen to have lying around, and will attempt to restore the VIN. That is all, thank you.
