TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Wednesday was opening for doves here. Ought to be busy this weekend.
Judging from my experience hunting doves, the guns get worked over more than the doves.

Fond memories of shooting doves with my dad when I was a young lad. We bought our horse ranch back on 1986. The ranch bordered a dairy farm that was 1 mile across. The first couple of years there during dove season someone would be shooting doves on the dairy farm. A few seconds after I would hear a volley of shots doves would come screaming across our ranch. I would stand in the yard and shoot down dinner. Along about '89 I gave up any type of hunting and all creatures could consider the ranch their home with the exception of rattlesnakes, cottonmouth snakes and alligators.
I'm pretty sure archery season is in full swing, Muzzleloader will start probably on the 17th. Not sure about high power rifle seasons.
