It came sealed from the factory, so I can't say.
My son who does it for a living is out of town for a bit, if he gets in touch with us I'll ask him
I know he has mentioned a sealer available at Home Cheapo that he considers is pretty good though. Can't remember the name off the top of my head. Lemme see if I can jog my memory.

Make sure Jaxen dries the counter thoroughly every time he uses it or the counter will stain and you won't be able to get them out before you seal it. Particularly toothpaste and any other acidic substances.
