Or xeriscape as you mentioned.
The only real problem with the turf is it gets hot. We were warned hot enough to burn puppy paws.

I have been getting rid of my lawn little by little
Not as Hot in Boston area as TX, but this year has been Hot & Dry
I have 6/10 of an acre...and I have planted over 100 trees, and over 100 smaller trees...started in 2018
Tallest is maybe 15' right now
Front lawn (small already) has been mostly dug up & flowers/plants instead -only a small area to old front door (not used)
Some of the fake grass lawns look pretty good
Grow Cacti & sell them

Evening, Davey.
We did 1/2 of our front yard in synthetic turf a few years ago, the rest in rocks and low water plants. Denver is basically a desert, so while grass is nice, it is pretty much an invasive. Installing a sprinkler system in the back has increased efficiency tremendously. Cut our water bill in half.

Had my granddaughter over today, only morning to afternoon day this summer, Mom put her in special learning classes that were every day until this week, and next week she starts first grade. She has picked up on reading at least, went through a kid's book with her today and she figured out all the words in it. Sure missed having her around, didn't have her over more than a couple hours a few days this summer. Carol even came over to see her, first time in nearly two years; I don't think she's ever seen the youngest boy.

When I moved in my current house I liked all the small trees all over the place. Fast forward 30 years, the lawn mower sounding like a wood chipper from hundreds of small dead branches and tree roots threatening foundations, and finally a few thousand down for the 60 to 70 footers in confined areas I didn't dare do myself, I decided if I ever move someplace again with a bunch of trees in the yard - I'll cut them down while they're easy before they become expensive problems. Although I guess I don't have enough years left for trees to grow much...

It is done.
I will no longer drive for a living. My *** will stay 3 feet off the ground instead of 9.
