Envy... I've driven Glacier twice in cars, always wanted to do it on a bike. Should look beautiful in the rain, I did one trip in bright sunlight and the other was overcast, looked better overcast.
Great ride today. Today was the first day that the entire Going-to-the-Sun road was open. We sat at breakfast and played the reservation ticket lottery and wouldn’t you know it, techno-retard Greg got a ticket and so did Tim. Fortunately for me, Tim turned his ticket over to me since they were leaving today and had ridden the road previously. If you haven’t done the GTTSR, do it. As impressive of scenery as you will ever see. I expected much more traffic but was pleased that we didn’t have to duck walk the length of the road.
We exited on the east, St. Mary’s end and headed for Browning. After picking our way through the off-road construction zones, we were able to put all the cars behind us on HWY 89 and let the horses eat. Beautiful long sweepers, no traffic, running it up to 90-95 for about 10 miles. Lunch in Browning which is on the Blackfoot reservation and then back to Kalispell. It started raining on us about 20 miles out. A little lightening to go with the rain too.
Packing up this evening and heading south tomorrow morning. Back into the roaster oven……

13 year old grandson spent the morning with me, got more work done with the tree remnants by noon than I probably would have in a couple days. I'll have to borrow him again next week. He's back with his Dad until Wednesday. Got the tree bits out that fell in the gully, and what that fell in the next door neighbor's yard, those were top priority.

You guys got real lucky on the road opening. Just a day's difference... The most scenic road I've been on, glad you got to do it.
Good evening all. It is extended happy hour and I am enjoying a nice Tangueray and tonic. I got home a little late. As promised though, I prepared chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and spinach with fresh green beans al dente drenched in garlic and butter. It is fantastic.

Great pics guys! Never been up there .
Heading to Morro Bay tomorrow. I guess a juvenile hump back wale beached itself. Hopefully it's not stinking up the place tomorrow.
