Well, just made my Indy's day. Apparently the work to be done on the heritage Springer didn't get communicated. My uncle is coming down and I want the second bike for him to ride. So, bike would need new bars, cam/gear swap, rejet the carb, swap exhaust. Most I've heard him cuss in one sitting.

Glad to hear everyone else is having a good day as well. Went for a ride noonish and it was pretty warm here. Wifey said now it looks like we may get a little rain. I hope so....my yard needs it!!

 

Yes they have suspension most have a leaf spring ... Basic model sold through Harbor Freight has several leaf springs and I'v read many remove one of the leafs as it's sprung a bit heavy ... Never encounter problems with cross winds ... Tongue weight is the most important factor ... Most recommend not to exceed 25 lbs ( check with a fish scale ) 300 lbs sound to be at the max ... Sleeping in one ?? I've seen more than a few that have used Yakima containers( the ones mounted on roofs of cars ) mounted on a universal trailer frame ...








Piggyback is another inexpensive model



Mine is a Bushtec ( high end / very expensive ) but I bought it used in the middle of the winter ... Hope this helps Chris

Thanks Larry. Storing gear isn't an issue so much as a place to sleep on longer rides. I was looking at the HF trailer that looks to be about 4'x8' at 250lbs. Some of the camper trailers I've seen weight nearly 400lbs empty. Like anything, proper loading and tongue weight is what I imagine would be the biggest issue. Just thinking out loud and looking to figure out a better way to travel and skip hotels. I don't do off road riding and the reality is, I spend most of my time on the highway, so I don't imagine a trailer would be a serious burden.

That's just what I've been thinking. Of course I'm clueless and I've never towed with the bike. I was looking at hitches too and saw what you were using. Something that installs and stays on but is hidden. If that makes sense...

 

Sitting here at Greg’s house loving on his dogs. Gonna see if I can ruin Rocky or Sadie before he gets home from shuffle.

 

 

I got the trailer washed and put away. Next time she comes out we'll be loading up for a trip somewhere. Now it is happy hour and I am cooking dinner. Blackened Grouper, mashed cauliflower, green beans for her and brussels sprouts for me. Tangueray Rangpur and tonic for happy hour.
