Dumbest thing I’ll be doing is walking in Middletown towards a fireworks show. Tomorrow

Well I removed the cat on my bike a couple weeks ago. Trying to help reduce heat from right side of engine. It seems it did help, but maybe not too much. So I installed some frame air deflectors this evening. Kinda a PITA, but it didn't take more than 30 minutes. Hard to reach the upper bolt due to he head being in the way. I'll go out for a ride tomorrow to see if that helps any. Thank God I have highway pegs.....they help get my feet and legs out a bit from the engine.
Hope you guys don't drink too much tonight!! I won't. Just a beer for me!!

I removed the oem with a cobra set up. No cat.
Your bike should receive a tune to compensate the lack of back pressure now that the cat is removed. Mine had a tune beforehand. Seemed to run better.

Evening gents! Beautiful evening here. Hanging out by the pool and Cheryl is grilling up some steaks. Life is good.

That's a popular misconception - removing a cat reduces heat. What it really does is moves it, depending on what slip-ons you're running. Heat builds at the first point of restriction. So when the cat is in place, it happens there. When you remove the cat, it happens at the muffler, again, to varying degrees. When I swapped out my exhaust on my 2011, all I did was shove the heat farther back to the extent that it started cooking Cheryl's boots. That bike was hot as hell (D&D Fatcat with Supertrapp). My last bike was a stock head pipe and less restrictive slip-ons (FM E-series). Ran like a violated Simian - much quicker than the 2011. Much cooler running bike as well.

Tune has a big influence as well.

Well mopped the kitchen floor. Drink spilled out the fridge. What a mess. But all the grilling to be done tomorrow should go off without a hitch.
burgers, dogs, wrapped corn, marinated London broil steaks ( butterflied). Steam some veggie’s
