Tick, I've read that snow is very heavy. I bet quite a few folks clear their roofs, but the snowblower is a whole other matter.

Mostly buildings with flat roofs like wal mart or target. Will hire their roofs cleaned off due to the weight. They may actually use snowblowers to do it.

Wet snow can weigh over 20lbs/cu ft. Two snows back, about 6", was pretty heavy, rest not so much. My roof is close to 1500 sq ft, and figuring a conservative 12 lb/cu ft (roof snow average must be over a foot deep), that would put 9 tons on my roof, and wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to 12 tons. Not worried, it's been a lot deeper up there. I pulled a foot or two off the front roof edge a couple snows back, and that made a pile I wouldn't even try to shovel off the drive and sidewalk, snowblower work. There's still a lot of snow to come, my shoulders are sore from other things, and unless it gets a lot deeper, I'm going to leave it be. My neighbor's 36' foot 5th wheel camper trailer must be well over gross weight with the snow on it, don't know if that's bad for the springs or not.

There have been some big roof collapses in the Minneapolis area. Most spectacular one was a few years back when a stadium dome held up by air pressure collapsed in the middle, and when it reached the end of its stretch, ripped open and dumped tons of snow on the football field, all caught on surveillance cameras.

Good show, China has some spectacular scenery and from what people that have been there tell me, real friendly people. Different government, would be a great country. They say that about us, too.

Afternoon, Woods...had to go to funeral home about half hour away. Stopped at Sam's Club to get a $9 container of candy and got out spending less than $100.....$99.48 to be exact.....

Funeral homes and Walmart....they go together like a hand in glove.
