Just back from the Top Gun movie.
Looks like Stan is in for some heavy weather.

Halito Woods. Back home after our Memorial Day Parade. Temps in the upper 80's, but there was a nice breeze. Parade went well. The memorial service at the Veterans Memorial Park was great. The speaker was one of our VietNam Vets from the Post. He gave one helluva speech. Explained how the American Legion got its start. 103 years old this year. Spoke of when we started and how we gained our Post name. Spoke on the sacrifices those have paid, and the benefits to us today. Really a well thought out and honorable history of the Legion. Local high school played a military medley, and played the echo version of Taps. I love that rendition! We gave some of our fired brass to some children that were in the area. I think they really thought that was cool!
Hope you all had a good and safe Memorial Day. Thank You For Your Service.

Yessir.....
We got nailed at 5 this morning and again about 4 p.m. Had to get the generator out to keep the sump pump pumping. High winds and a fair amount of tree damage but our property was fine. Heavy rains. This stuff's got to end sooner or later. We had major storms through here two weeks ago also.

Tornado sirens going off now. Usually storm damage is from what they call straight line winds.

It was fun, Mark. I'm cynical about such movies anymore, but it was worth seeing.

Nope, corn on the cob, Carolina Cole slaw, baked beans and green pea salad.
