No masks at ours either. I was surprised as I had just come from an appt where I had to prove I was a citizen. Apparently it's a requirement to get hired these days and a 3rd party contractor did it for the company I work for. I walked in - "You need to wear a mask!" Uh......ok. Haven't been told to wear a mask in months but whatever. Go to the car to see if there's one hiding under a seat. Fortunately there was. Probably contaminated with who knows what. Go back in hand her my passport. She tells me to leave my I9 documents there and sit down across the room. So I leave the passport with her. Then she shoves it at me and just says "Take, take, take, take!" By this time I'm getting prickly and say "You only need to say it once., not 100 times." She just kind of laughs and I said "I'm serious. Be nice."

After that she was nice. Go figure.

Funny you should mention proving your identity today Bob. I had an appointment with the dark suit types today from the Defense Intelligence Agency. Nice lady came out to check my pedigree and take my fingerprints for their new security clearance stuff. She was nice and pretty as well. No chance for Louie’s though as we were in an interview room by ourselves. She handed my passport back to me after leafing through the pages and double checking some of the travel I disclosed on my SF-171 Security Clearance application. Why were you in Nigeria? Tourist. Why were you in Ghana? Tourist. Why were you in Turkey? Tourist. Were you a tourist in Columbia? Yes. She caught on that would be my standard answer and asked no more.
