Said my ex-wife stole from my mom, which is, of course, utter bullshit. Cheryl's point was - if you're saying his wife stole from your mom, your also saying Bob did. It went sharply downhill from there.

Unfortunately it comes down to no good deed goes unpunished. When my Mom had a stroke I was the only one around to manage her affairs. One sister lives in Denver and the accuser was in prison for dealing drugs. Mom's stroke messed with her brain and we found out she made some pretty horrible accusations. I guess it happens.
