Damn Al, you’re going out of your way to find stuff to rebuild! Good luck with the dental stuff, I dislike dentists and all their incarnations.

Dental work is no fun. But if there are problems, gotta get them fixed! Good luck!

Yep....I have a phobia for dentistry since I was a kid. I've been told I had brittle teeth, they would just break off. I've been screwed up by every dentist I've ever been to, as a result I've avoided them. Time to pay the piper. Time for full dentures...

I had a bad experience when I was about 12 with a dentist. I would not go to one for 10+ years until I had some issues. Found a dentist and told him I did not like him, I did not like people with their fingers in my mouth. That I had a phobia on dentists. He looked shocked at first, but then we talked. He gave me gas just to clean my teeth. He gave me extra attention on my visits. He built up my confidence. And finally I told him, hey, I don't need gas for cleaning!! Been going to him for 30+ years. I have no fear of him!!!
Good Luck to you!!!

OK.... I'm gonna change speeds here. I've spent the past day or so searching for some 3M paint protective film. Can't locate the source I used on my last bike, and amazon didn't seem to show much for what I was looking for. I suspect there is a material shortage on this stuff as well! Found some on line finally and ordered a roll 6"x60". Plan on putting this on the lids of my saddlebags. I did this on my last bike and it sure helped from accidental hits and bumps. My only question is: has anyone done this where they cut out or trimmed the film to fit all the way across the lid? I fought and trimmed the old one so there was about 1/4-3/8" of space all around the lid. Under normal circumstances, you would never notice the film. When dirty, you could sometimes see some build up around the edges. And I had to spend a few extra minutes cleaning the wax around the edge else you would notice the wax build up. I got some thoughts, but just wondered if any of you had some suggestions!

Denny, on my Ultra, I had factory painted pinstripes on the top of the lids. I cut the clear stuff to end on the pinstripes, could never see the edges.
