It's for a local volunteer department. We have very small amount of firefighters and I've been there for about 6 years.

It would make me eligible for an appointment to a officer position by the chief at a later date.

My oldest son is the Chief in town. He asked me one day.." Dad, I need a driver during the day, you're always around. Join the fire dept."...I told him " Sure, here's the terms. I'm not going to all those classes that you guys have to go to. I'll drive from 8AM to 5 PM..I only drive, nothing else. AND..I don't go out in the middle of the night"...He didn't ask me again...
