Missed the end of the 500..... got a notification on my phone there was something that happened between Wisconsin and michigan after the game. So I tuned in to the news and michigan coach howard smacked the head of a Wisconsin assistant coach. Quite a bit of "stuff" going on right now. Sounds like howard might lose his job. Will be an interesting week at the u of m.
New faces. New cars. New tires and wheels. Segmented races. Some of the reasons I have pretty much quit watching NASCAR. I'll half assed watch the Daytona, but that's about it. But my grandson likes it, so I try to pay enough attention so we can talk about it!
Looking for another warm day tomorrow.... Snow melting really good now. Side streets should be crappy tomorrow!!!

Why do I think your "relatively lazy day" puts my busy day to shame?

Never saw a Longhorn until I was stationed at Fort Hood, some of those have a hell of a horn span. Occasionally ran across them riding cross country (Texas used to have lots of unfenced land) but stayed well away from them.

Not sure there is an inner liner in these low profile tires. I guess it is easy and quicker with only one lug nut but they need to work out the kinks.
Aircraft have one "lug" nut, but they'll have a cotter pinned locking ring or even a bolt through the locking ring and a cotter pin in that. For a race car, that would take longer to change than multiple lug nuts, but they should be able to figure out some kind of way to keep that nut secure that could be removed real quick.

Just had a stray thought pop up. On some airliners, the front landing gear strut is angled forward a little, and if you turn it, the outside wheel lifts off the pavement. Not an approved way to do it, but when there's a second body available, one can hold the steering wheel (airliners have separate little steering wheels just for that) while the other changes the wheel, saves a little time and labor not having to set up a jack.

They threw out the term “stock” out of nascar awhile ago. Just watch the crashes now. Don’t care who wins.
