TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Couple days ago, my laptop slipped off my lap and hit the floor. Unfortunately it was plugged into the charger and it landed on the plug and broke it off. YIKES!!
Took it apart but wasn't able to get the broken part out of the socket. Also need a new charger/cable. Got that off Amazon Prime in less than 2 days. This morning I dug around with a dental pick that I use for cleaning guns, etc. and managed to get the rest of the broken plug out. The package with the new charger came this morning by USPS. Put it all back together and it's working!! Laptop was only 3 months old. Whew!!

Funny! I started building computers for fun in the late 70s. Built one from a set of instructions in a magazine. Had to source the parts and solder them in. It could add, subtract, multiply and divide. In the 80s I bought an Atari 400 with 16K of memory. Within a few weeks I had soldered on an additional 48K of memory for a total of 64K, more than Atari was offering in any of their computers. In the 90s, I started putting together IBM compatible computers from motherboards and parts. Supplied all my friends and family with them, for a price of course. Stopped after about 5 years because I was getting constant phone calls for service. 95% of that was operator error or people not reading the software manual. These days its so much easier and cheaper to buy one with all the goodies you want built in on the mother board.
That said, if I have a problem, I can still pop the top and dive in to solve most problems.

Alcohol can’t solve all your problems but sometimes it’s the the only thing to make them tolerable
