I saw Elvis at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo there too in '74. Only once, not 17 times. We'd go to the Astrodome fro Astro's games, Oiler's games, and destruction derbies. It was cheap to get in and the parents would just drop us off and tell us what time they'd pick us up later.
I saw a baseball game at the Astrodome, I think in '69. First domed stadium I was in, I seem to remember people saying it was the only one at the time. That thing must have had a huge air conditioning bill in Houston summers.
