So when should I plan the trip? Late April early May? I have a lot of other things to take into consideration; work mostly and my schedule. I can't plan this far out. I'll also have to take two days which means a stop in AZ. Which means reservations.

I'll say rhis though Russ. I learned a lot from our trip and will be able to use that info.

I’d go late May, early June. Late enough to avoid the spring storms and through the desert before it gets to 120°. Are you doing a quick turnaround? Plan on the reservations being closed to nearly everything but fuel. How many miles a day do you plan to do?

Relatively. I'm going to try to carve out 9 or 10 days total. That's 4 days of travel minimum.

I had a motorcycle like that, sold it for gas money.

Honda has a few bikes with auto trans or CVT or something.
