When I was in my late teens and had already left home, we found out that the shallow 22' well on the family farm would become contaminated with certain bacteria twice a year due to changes in seasons (and being shallow).
I don't recall the exact details and it wasn't specifically life threatening..... but we were advised it wasn't healthy either. We had all drank from the well since 1959 and this would have been about 1978. Didn’t kill us....lol.

Morning Woods. 28° here, so not too bad. Sleet hitting the ground west of my current location, which is funny enough, the house. Temps might climb high enough to melt it though.

I think all this Rona BS is having a cumulative effect on everyone. So far 2022 has been worse for us than 2021, which was worse than 2020. We hope to turn that around.
That said, because we have been sick it was really easy to not drink. We’re social drinkers so that makes sense. Yesterday’s cessation of dry January had little to do with stress or urges. We simply decided we didn’t need to keep going. We’ve made an effort to reduce our alcohol consumption across the board all year, much to the chagrin of many of our friends. Funny how uptight people get when they drink and you don’t. Anyway, because Cheryl was riding her own bike, she abstained. And i wanted to support that, so I did too. Frankly, it wasn’t missed.

I haven't had the uptight people when I chose to not drink. We've only been out once for dinner tho.
Tonya doesn't drink much if any. Now my son worries me from time to time. He's in that family of jobs where you work hard and party hard. Oil & Gas related work breeds alcohol use here in WV. He's done good so far with some very serious stressors in his life right now and I expected him to cave by now honestly.

I've rode sections of it. Its not the BRP et al, or anything close but its quiet, no trucks and a pleasant ride with a lot of roadside factoids to read if you're into that. Some beautiful scenery but not mountainous and the speed limit is 45 and 50 mph I think depending on where you are. I liked it.
