Merry Christmas Larry and the same to everyone here. The wife and I are baking, having a cocktail or two and enjoying the evening. In the morning I get up and start preparing a pot roast feast with all the trimmings for her family. They will be here around lunch time to eat and exchange socks.

Merry Christmas friends! Close enough to it anyway...

Al, my wheels are not gone forever. The tires are forfeit but at the end of their lives, and to be honest, I'm happy to have gotten 16k out of them. His rims don't come in until February so this way it's still rolling.

His bike is brand new, 6 miles on the odometer and he's going to a 26in front. His wheels are not needed and I like the 2021 style of that wheel. He knew that I was going to black out mine. He wanted considerably more and I got him down with Russ' help. Between new tires, and bearings because I was pulling them to powder coat the wheels, I was gonna be out a chunk anyway. This made it an easy bolt on affair and I do like the newer wheel style, it's not so bad. But, that was the money I'd set aside for the stainless exhaust I was waiting for.

I literally save for this crap for months at a time. The wheels and tires cost me the exhaust I wanted for the time being. But I was out half what I paid on the tires anyway. Tires I'm still waiting until February to get.

Just passing thru to wish y'all a Merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year. It was warm enough today for a ride to the King and a short ride-about afterwards. For Dec 24th in PA....that ain't bad.

Chris, i wasn't criticizing your decision. I'm JUST curious as to what different stuff is worth. When i got those new takeoffs, It would have cost me well over 2K from HD and that may have been just for the wheels, bearings etc. On the Ultra, I changed the tires out at 14k and wasn't even down to wear bars. My theory is that I have to change them out eventually and since I'm only on two tires, why take any chances... MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

Thats awesome Doc. I'd imagine it'd be too cold. Always good to get in a winter ride.

I've critized my own decisions. I do it often.

Those wheels from HD are about 700 each, plus tires costing about 500 for the pair, plus the 200 labor because I can't mount tires myself.

Bob broke it down very close to how I did. that would have me sitting at about 900 total. Only difference then would be I was waiting to do it until February and doing it now I dipped into the saving I had for something else.

Not having black wheels would have been the cheapest option.

I know I'll be in and out of here tomorrow and some may not.
