That said, I rarely advertise politics in written form. It's a more divisive topic than ever before and Grandma always told me, civilized people do not talk politics and religion in mixed company. I seriously apply that in my life.

Open carry should add to the fun.

Late check in Woods. Tanya and I rode the motorcycles in to work today. She learned that shoulders aren't a good place to stop when there's grass and a decline. But she picked the bike up by herself.

Had a hit and run fatality last night. Car hit a man walking and left him for dead. I've spent all morning working on tracking down the driver.

Get 'em Chris! Do you have much information to go on?

We have a lead. That's not a guaranty though. And I think I have the actual event narrowed down to a very short amount of time.

My Tonya learned with gravel. Still has problems with the foot and elbow/shoulder.

Good luck on the case.

Rick, thankfully nothing so bad. She really just fell over because she's short and didn't have enough leg to get her foot down. At first I thought she went wide, but she said she thought she dropped her keys and reached for them in a turn. She pulled onto the shoulder and just fell over. We had just moved from a stop sign and started rolling.

I didn't know Tonya had done that. Always scary to think about. I have been for years. This is nerve wracking for me.

Sorry to hear Tanya went over. Tell her welcome to the club! Me and my brand new bike went over twice since I got her. Both times there was gravel/sand and front brake involved. Other than scratch on bottom of saddlebag, my pride hurt most!
Hope you catch the asshat who hit that gentleman. Good luck on your search.

Every off Cheryl has had on her bike has been at a stop. It comes down to short legs basically. She has no leverage on any kind of irregular surface so off camber is bad. Slippery is bad. Pointing up or down hill, not as bad, but still not great.

I've been working on the bike to get it as user friendly as possible. I dropped the triple trees by an inch on the fork tubes. I dialed in less preload on the rear shocks so the bike sags a bit more (2 inches vs the correct 1.5), I had the seat shaved by an inch. I replaced the side covers, which pushed her legs out away from the bike, with flat side covers which allow her legs to be closer to the bike. All those things have come together to help quite a bit. But in the end a woman simply does not have the strength to hold up a bike once it gets past 10 degrees of lean at a stop. Which led to the next addition to the bike - crash bars. Oddly enough, since I added them she hasn't dropped the bike. Figures.
