TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
The problem with having more storage is that you can buy more stuff....then you still don't have enough storage, so you get more storage....it's a never ending battle.....I have a little experience with that........
On top of that, "stuff" is work. I've cut way back on cars and bikes. At one point I had 12 classic bikes and 7 classic cars. It was a full time job keeping them all running! And the storage costs was nuts. Now I'm down to 2 classics, 2 riders, and one truck. Couldn't be happier.

In other news, work has become funny. Last week's blowup I received another request from my boss's boss, via my boss, to tone my emails down as they come off defensive. No ****! When some bitch from another department sends an interdepartmental email (copying God and everyone) criticizing my performance, you're damn right I'm going to answer it, which apparently is defensive. She has made her place by leaving a trail of bodies with knives in their backs including one of my former bosses, who was very nice and capable. This bitch got close to her and then undermined her to upper management and got her canned, and took her place as my boss. Which pissed me off because I liked my boss. That and I have decades of experience doing this where she has 2 years. And sucks at it btw. Not that I wanted teh job. I didn't. But I also didn't want her as my boss. Which is why I transferred departments.
Anyway, I let her have it, diplomatically, last week and now my boss is isolating me from her and pretty much anyone else in upper management because he, I suspect, thinks I'm ready to lose my ****. Which I don't do. But he comes from the run and hide approach to conflict where I meet it head on. So now he's managing all my meetings and told me to just sit back and let him handle it. Lol - wish granted!
Not being in the situation, it would be easy for anyone to think "Uh-oh........Bob will be out of a job soon." Due to internet brevity (anything over 3 short paragraphs is unreadable for us) I haven't explained it thoroughly. Suffice it to say that I carry the department. I have the product and management knowledge that my boss and the other manager do not have. It's easier to keep me doing 90% of the work while he handles the few meetings with other departments. To illustrate, I have 24 projects and the other guy has 2, and I have to help him with those. And I'll still do client meetings, which are a necessary part of the job.

Other than that Bob, how's things at work ?
(Preemptive apology, couldn't resist.)
If we didn't laugh around my shuffle, we would cry.
