Watching "We Were Soldiers' earlier. Excelent portayal of events but lacking.
LZ Albany was completly omitted from the film.
Most of the men would not make it.
A quote from the book..
"In the confusion as fast paced, fluid & disorganized as this one along the trail to the Albany clearing_
with leaders killed, wounded, or seperated from their men & unit integrety disentegrating in the tall grass
& the storm of enemy fire_ soldiers drift away or are forced to move away.
This is, perhaps, the ultimate terror: to be lost & alone in a hostile land where the next man you meet wants only to kill you.

If you are interested in the '65 battle of the Ia Drang Valley, the book was written by Col. Hal Moore & AP? reporter Joe Galloway. Excellent stuff.
