I didn’t think to take any pictures ( because I was awe struck) while it was happening but we had a little more excitement than l’m comfortable with last night. I could see lights reflecting off the side of my RV, so I opened the door to look around ( I’m behind a clump of trees) and I could see a thick column of black smoke rising up through the air. You guessed it , someone’s RV was on fire. There must have been three fire stations worth of equipment on scene. Good new is the 92 year old man got out unharmed but the fifth wheel was a total loss. Turns out it was the refrigerator that started the fire.

Howdy Woods - a little break in the Grandpa action.
Holy Cow Chuck - that's a little too "close to home" !
Remind me to never make you angry ! lol
(Glad the owner is safe).

I responded a few months back to something very similar, but it was the AC running on a 15v circuit that did it. The owner survived but was badly burned. It's a Shane the 5th wheel was a loss, but the owner getting out is the silver lining. Also glad you suffered no loss yourself.

I think that’s the only outcome you’d want with an RV fire. A total loss. You’ll never get the smell out of them.

Daughter and all 4 grandkids got this crud a day or so before I did, and she says they're recovering pretty good today, some sniffles and the 3 youngest don't have much energy. Seemed like the pressure in my head was building all day, and then started easing off a couple hours ago. Glad it did, my ears were hurting from the pressure.

Daughter said she did a load of laundry this morning, and when she took it out, there was a dead mouse in it. Washing machine smelled bad inside, so she took it all apart to make sure there weren't more in there. Told her I'd run a couple cycles with just water and bleach, and then wash those clothes a couple times. Maybe 10 or 12 times... Now all she has to do is get the washing machine back together, but she said she took it all apart before to fix it so she knows how. She's not shy about opening her toolbox, and if she hits a dead end, time to call Dad. Was some strange wiring in that house a few years ago that defeated her, took me a while to figure that out.
