That looks good, Bill. Is the pea gravel loose, or is it infused with a adherent to keep it from scattering?

Yes, it is their "Tire Shredder" kit. Cylinders, heads, pistons. cams, 58MM throttle body, injectors, intake.

Are you at all concerned about the robustness of the stock crankshaft?.

Not really. I have seen just a couple posts in here about it actually happening, but a lot more speculation about how it "could" happen.
ETA: I've been waiting for the crank in my '04 98", supposedly one of the weakest of that era, to blow up for 25,000 miles.
