Gas does not have a constant volume and will change in relation to the pressure exerted on it. Liquid is not compressable and the volume does not change in response to pressure. So it can be subjected to pressure, but the volume will not change.

No, the roads always suck. They are slick compared to SD. Tar snakes and gravel aboud as well as standing oil. I don't drag hard parts on these roads and more than once I've lost the rear under a hard pull.
