Well it's official! I am ready for winter. Garage organized, wifey's car parked inside, Traverse parked next to her. Snow blower is in garage, gassed, started, and ready to roll. Come on winter....let's get this over with!!
Good luck on your endeavor Bob. Hope the outcome is what you wanted. I love how management always seem to think the guy who does the best work and is most dependable, is also the one who they think can handle the work of two more people. And I really love it when you are gone, how badly they screwed up. Good luck buddy!

Morning, Al, Greg, Larry, Jeff, Russ, John, and Stan!
Yes and no answered in 3rd paragraph. Back story - Had a bad week at work last week. The short story is I manage installations of OR lights and booms (that hold medical equipment and provide med gases and electrical outlets). This is a new "partnership" with a very poor quality company providing the equipment. So managing the installation of garbage has been stressful. Now, my boss's boss wants us to also manage the service of this garbage. It is guaranteed that once installed, it will fail numerous times throughout it's life. Multiply each piece of equipment times the number of projects I have and it is a monumental effort to oversee the service. One that we have full departments for by the way. Add to that that we are understaffed to manage projects to begin with. So as I put it to my boss last week - I was in a leaky boat barely staying afloat and this was a tidal wave. No way I can keep up and honestly, I am sick of my main duty being offering apologies to clients who deserve better.
Based on this I emailed the potential employer Friday and asked for an update, telling him some changes have happened that make my departure a sooner than later scenario. He called me right away and told me he has one other applicant he "has" to interview but that I make a very strong case for employment. That tells me internal app. I think the subtext is he wants to hire me but has to go through the formality of interviewing the company person.
If you skipped all of the blah blah above - He said I would know next week

So, my cell phone has been getting a little sketchy. It could go no longer. I reluctantly went to the Verizon store. On the way I called the IT guy at the office. He said the Pixel for Android was a good choice. That is what I got. Get this, you cannot just buy the phone. I wanted to purchase the phone and dump all the old phone in. You have to finance the phone unless it is a prepaid phone. I could put up to 40% down and I can pay if off after 90 days but you cannot just outright purchase it. He tried to explain to me about fraud prevention, blah blah blah but I had no idea what he was talking about. I guess it is a law. Nice young man though and he hooked me up with the new Pixel 6. He said it was a macdaddy and I should get 6 years out of it. He had a hook in his nose and a manbun but he was polite and knew his #$%^.
and I went in to ask him why.
He is obliged now to provide samples for WS22!
Can't be any worse than pickled herring.
