There are plenty of all stripes here that are uninsured and suspended or unlicensed.

Morning, Rick.

The estimate is 35% of vehicles are uninsured here in Colorado.

Morning, John.
I guess if the insurance company doesn’t go after them, why wouldn’t you run without insurance. No slap on the hand.
Your insurance won’t go up due to the claim? No fault claim?

The insurance may go after them as they were issued at least 2 citations.
The problem is the STATE won't go after them and hold them accountable. It is an unsustainable problem that refuses to be dealt with by adults. It is ILLEGAL to drive without insurance here in CO. So responsible people end up footing the bill.
Our Insurance shouldn't increase because we haven't had any claims, however everyone's rates go up to pay for the uninsured.

We have that problem up here too. I'm not sure what the percentage is for people who are not registered or licensed. Its up to $5000 ($1200 US) if you get caught with no registration and insurance.
In AB, you cannot get registration unless you have valid insurance. Unfortunately, once you get your registration, you can cancel your insurance after a month...

Morning Greg.

Tim, we have people here that do that. Get the registration then cancel the insurance. Here in Texas we pursue it. If I ever do a stop and the person has everything they need but no insurance, they walk and I tow the vehicle. Then I put a hold on the vehicle and they can't get it out until they provide proof of insurance. They can still cancel, but I'll do everything I can to make it a pain in the *** for them.

I carry uninsured and underinsured coverage for that reason.

My 69 that doesn't even run and is still in pieces has insurance and is registered.
