Curious how an HOA is communism though.

 

Other people setting expectations and rules for property that isn't theirs.

 

Ummmm John, that’s not communism. All rules are disclosed before someone purchases a home in a HOA controlled subdivision. You, as a homebuyer are free to walk away before signing the agreement and purchasing a home in it. All changes to the bylaws and CC&Rs must be adopted by 70% of the homeowners. The community pools and common areas such as parks, not to mention landscape are maintained by the association for the benefit of all homeowners to preserve the value of their investments. Sure doesn’t sound like my definition of communism. Things not allowed in an HOA: Tall weeds and grass in your yard. Junk cars parked in your yard or stored on the property. You can’t paint your house purple. You have to maintain your property. Yeah, those are tough rules to live by and the evil HOA will enforce those crushing rules like Stalin when he killed the kulaks.

 

Just because someone agrees to participate, doesn't change what it is. Nope, won't live in one. My property, my rules

No HOA here. Looking at homes in Montana the HOA's we're basically for clearing roads of snow. Makes sense to me.

BTW, I had 9 cars in the driveway at one time. I'm down to 6, they all run. Again, my decision
