The one's that really **** me off are intersections where the lights all turn red after a cycle with no traffic, and won't turn green until someone stops and triggers the cycle. And only for that lane, someone pulls up in the opposite direction less than 5 or 10 seconds before that lane turns green, they have to wait till the whole cycle starts over. I've sat many times for a one minute or 90 second cycle with no other cars in sight, when I went to work before morning rush hour.

My ship was almost on the iceberg about 3 years before I could retire, got incredibly lucky when Delta bought them and saved a lot of pensions. 4 companies in my airline career, first was good, second mediocre but easiest to work with, third the pits, bottom of the industry barrel, fourth, best in the country, why didn't I just start with this one?

Glad to hear you and Kristi made it home without any unpleasentness. Did you ever do a border cross, or just avoid that potential hassle?

As in New York? I've never driven, always flown. I would guess 700 miles? But I would be moving to Scottsdale which is 1000 more.

Daughter's home safe, picked her and husband up at the airport. Think all I'll do for the rest of the evening is cook and watch some tv. I didn't know it was a business meeting she and her him made into a short vacation, will have meets in Chicago and Dallas next year, more mini vacations. Not places I'd want to turn into a mini vacation...

Came close to losing the truck today, caught a yellow light, knew it'd be red going through it, so started stopping, guy did a right turn right in front of a dump truck coming fast on my right and going to run the red, and I realized that dump truck had no escape route, went to the left and the truck squeezed between us straddling the middle of the two lanes. Hate to think how that would have turned out if I hadn't been paying attention to the traffic beside and behind me, he was probably doing between 40 and 50 and I suspect he thought I was going to run the red, too. High pucker factor for both of us, wasn't sure for a moment I could get out of his way in time.

Bob, I doubt you'd have been thrilled with Scottsdale before they put the freeways there in the 80's, before that the only north-south route was Scottsdale Rd, a solid packed stoplight infested temporary parking lot during rush hours. I drove it once, heading south in afternoon rush hour, not so bad south but there wasn't a break in traffic heading north through the whole town. The whole metro area was getting pretty bad before they built the roads they needed 20 years earlier. Sure had to remove a lot of houses by then, many miles of them.

G'Evening, Woods.....
Bob. Good Luck with the new prospect. I was curious if you would be able to continue to work for the same company if you moved. Apparently, better if you don't.

Changing the subject.....I bought another boat today! When #1 son was up to pull the little boat out yesterday, we discussed that I really should have a bigger boat. We both agreed. Although the small fishing boat was perfect for two people or me and Zeke, it was really too small for three people. Several times in the past two seasons, either #1 son and his G/F or #2 son and my g'son would come up and I would have loved to go out with them but it would be too crowded and no fun. So i told #1 " Find me a new boat that will handle three people and Zeke that will fit in the garage." The kid works quick, he's amazing. Around noon he texted me some pictures of exactly what we needed. His buddy with the boat shop took this in trade. 2012 Tracker Pro 16.5 FT with 40HP Merc and Trolling motor with 40 hours on it. All the bells and whistles plus a new cover, power trim and onboard charging.Boat looks like new. Owner had a "boat garage" at his lake so it was never exposed to weather. Required pics
