TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Well, F**k me.
I have certainly overestimated my position and influence at shuffle.
My district has maintained a steady 105% or so over budget this year, and we get hit with 10-15% sales budget increases every year. I'll tell you there's Blood, Sweat and Tears to get there (not the band).
Today I learn through the back door that after 6 weeks of meetings, we will also be assembling new control valves for our Industrial division. You've seen them on equipment, and they have like 10 control levers on each valve bank set. I had no idea. It appears the Industrial folks are so f**ked up, we get to bail them out. Everything in that service center funnels through me.
This is all good on the sales side but my work load will increase 20% to administer the process. I'm already overwhelmed most days, and there will be no hiring of help.
They don't care, and I mean they don't 'effin care. These decisions are made in offices in Chicago, by people totally unfamiliar with the process. To give you an idea of how bad they've cut this company structure, I needed a new phone "headset" (mine "broke") and the request went through 3 layers of management to spend $80. It was almost denied.
I'm speechless. Thanks for letting me rant.

one of the reasons I'm leaving, this company I work for are mindless......I was on a dedicated van run last night.....they have 5 pups (twin trailer(s) loaded sitting in the ready line....one van ready.......so what do they do they schedule the van for a different guy, who should of been given the pups...but now I had to wait over an hour for ''permission'' to run pups back instead of waiting for a van that was half loaded.an hour wasted .......ya just can't make this **** up.....

Nice Stan. Most high ups don't understand, that thinking like that is wrong. The ones that did think like that, and go up, get turned. They hope that the purple cool aid people (the kiss *** 20%) will push harder and work late, to make up the difference. And middle management needs to pressure the rest to do something so they can stay working .
Just a shell game....
Just a shell game....
Was looking around Savanna, GA last night for ***** and grins for a place to move. Allot of nice places down there for sale. Fort Wentworth. Curious if it's a good and up and coming area or bad all around....?

Stan..... I feel your pain. My old company was like that. Corporate was in E Hartford, CT and they tried to force us to work to the same levels, use their vendors, and pay more money for product. Spent many an hour trying to explain we are in the midwest, automotive country, we could spend less and the the same or better. My manager in EH chewed my *** out for not using their "prefered" vendor for some parts on one of our machines. Told him it would take a minimum of 10-14 days to get a part from them when I could walk across the street and buy the same thing and get delivered the next day. I told him I would never hold up production due to a machine down. He told me it doesn't matter, I did not follow rules and that was not allowable!!! So glad I retired from there....don't miss it a bit!
Well I got the golf bag prepped....the coins in selling order and the red sux tonight....my weekend is chock full for now.
