TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
I'm fairly certain it's the tune. It hits a wall and loses power under hard acceleration. Sputters and hard starts. All fuel related issues.
Yeah, but I haven't had it looked at by someone that knows more than I do yet. So, no long trips on it and I'm not riding it much. It isn't lean or rich, but the fuel delivery isn't right and is causing issues. Homeboy up there was telling me I need to upgrade to oil pump and a bunch of other crap I don't need even though the engine is stock. I'm not spending $1800 for what he's wanting, it isn't necessary. I have a local shop that can tune it and that's what needs to happen.
Better than the alternative I guess. How's the back today?
Just glad the frenchies stayed on the porch. So long as I stay steady on the hydrocodone, backs doing good. Left side is acting up when I forget the meds
Chris , the reason he’s suggesting an oil pump upgrade is the condition your describing resembles a sumping problem. You already have the latest version oil pump Harley offers. But you could still be having an issue with it.
Morning gents! Hit the ground running this morning and actually got through all my emails. A monumental effort! Contrary to what expected, the company was able to function in my absence.
Russ - I don’t recall my fender screw insert being flimsy on past bikes. I would see if they changed the design at some point and retrofit the old style if it’s different.
