TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Re Evenin Woods, well I’m thirty miles away from 10k . In order to keep my extended warranty in good standing I think I’m going to have the dealer do the service and record it in my owners manual. I don’t know if I can trust my nearest H-D dealer because they have had a recent personnel change. I will probably have it done on the road down to NC. Rocky Top H-D in Tennessee has good reviews. Plus I’m due for new rubber in the not to distant future. I want to try Michelin commander IIIs so I think I’ll have those installed at the Indian dealer in Maggie Valley, they did a nice job balancing the front on the Road King when it needed it. Very reasonable price and friendly service.
I may have to rethink this one , cost $ 602.00 for the service

Can Trish work overtime?
Evenin Woods! Another werk day almost done. Had to go get a blood draw for my quarterly A1C (90 day blood sugar test) and a flu shot.
My A1c has been pretty good the last year, below what Doctors recommend so they may take me off insulin. That's a decent savings. This keto diet has helped A LOT with that, plus I'm down 24 lbs since May. It's like I lost the equivalent of an Olsen twin or supermodel.

Chuck, I have been to that Indian dealer in Maggie Valley/Waynesville many times. The building used to be the Harley dealer. They are some friendly and knowledgeable folks. Glad to see they are still up and running. I worry about all dealerships these days.
I had a busy day inputting data on spreadsheets and generating reports. It makes the day go by fast. Then I went out to the mailbox. I did not get the mail Saturday. It seems that since Friday a million of the giant ants decided my mailbox is a ant condominium. I had to take the box completely off the post and eradicate them all. I had been wanting to replace the whole thing since moving here so I headed out for a new box and post. I struck out at two places. I came back home and remounted the old unit with only 4 screws until I get the stuff I need. I want one that locks. Amazon has a pretty good selection so tonight I will order what I need to update. I could just get a new post and paint the old box, it works just fine.
I think I will go for an evening ride. Everyone ride safe.

Yeah, Bill. I'm pretty excited. At my worst (not eating a sensible menu) I was spending about $100 a month for short acting insulin and about $75 for the long acting. It's easy to avoid the stuff that causes the rise in blood sugar, so long as you don't dwell on it. There is a cultural piece to it, too. My wife and I are both part Mexican, so rice, tortillas, fried taters & occasionally pasta are foods we grew up with and if I think about what I'm missing, it can cause me to give in to temptation.
Benjamin is back from his COVID nose swab. He started feeling bad Friday night. Sore throat, sneezing/runny nose, run down feeling, slight nausea...etc. He came home from school around Noon. We figured it was best to get the test done, just in case....but it'll be a relief if he is negative. We'll find out in 2-3 days.

I do miss frijoles, even though they aren't free.
