TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
Larry, I give young married or to-be married guys this advice ..." Never tell your wife "NO" . Women hate to hear that word. Always say "Yes" , "OK", "Sure", " I'll get right on it" or " No problem". Now, understand that you DON'T actually have to do what they want...just never tell them "NO".

What if it's the exact same idea?
So this morning I said to my wife, we can trade in my truck and get her a new Bronco like she's been wanting. She has said that she feels "stuck" with the truck because it wasn't what she wanted when we bought it. Well, I can't help that SHE decided to take the payout when the ins. co. totaled her Explorer. She's been driving my truck since. We don't tow much anymore and I have no need for a diesel truck currently or in the foreseeable future. It's still low miles and worth a lot, so it'd be easy to trade for something she wants. Long story short, she got mad at me. So fk it, she can hit more dumpsters, IDGAF anymore.
Yup. Similar boat but turning over heaven and earth to find her vehicle. No compromising as of yet.
If you can figure out how to take your idea and make her think it was her idea you have a super power!

I don't have to do that for her, she does it herself.

MarCUZ, do not let them know that it's the same idea. When I have to paint a room i do this. Once we've decided on a approximate color, let's say Beige. I get a maybe ten samples of different shades knowing that most will be eliminated immediately and narrowed down to three. In my opinion, one is too light, one is too dark and one is perfect. I then "push" for the one that's too dark. I, inevitably hear " That's way too dark, I think the next lighter one is perfect"....to which I agree since it's her choice.. Simple!

She's sitting there last night making the bracelets for the rally. We're going to be selling them and giving the money to our chapter fund. We use that money to pay for events, hotel stays, each other if needed, etc. She finishes one and sets it down and says, "What have you contributed to the club lately?" I said simply reply, "I brought you and you're everyone's favorite part about me." She smiled.
I don't get her, I'm just sitting at work steaming about that and things here too. Al, your advice is incredible! I love that. I'm going to make it my life's work to implement that in some way.

It will still be not quite enough.
