Morning Russ! That's the good news/bad news scenario I guess. Ours has worked pretty well but as you mentioned, ice is pretty skimpy. That and the doors don't line up. It looks pretty shitty for a 5 thousand dollar refrigerator. Hell, it looks shitty for a 500 dollar refrigerator. I'm going to keep coming up with repairs and hopefully I get a new one too. And yes - we did the extended warranty.

We have a Samsung over at the other house that makes ice for days with dual ice makers, the problem is that it is not stainless. We don’t have to give them this refrigerator back, just sign a statement that it has been “disposed of”. It will move into the laundry room, the one in there now will cycle to the Annex and a new fridge, manufacturer undetermined at this time, will be in the kitchen. You should know all 5 songs on the KitchenAid extended warranty playlist by now.

Afternoon Al, Russ, Bob & Larry.

My parents bought a Kenmore in 1980 and we had it for years. My dad kept it later on hooked up in the basement as a beer fridge and catch all to whatever was needed to be kept chilled. Eventually, I inherited it when we rented a house without a fridge. I kept it as our primary fridge and when we moved I decided to take it off the U-Haul myself. Welp it rolled off the ramp, and crashed on the dolly into the yard. All I could do it watch, as it tumbled down the yard like a bad car wreck. In shame I drug it back up the yard on the dolly and decided I'd see if it would still work. Plugged it in on the porch and in a few hours it was nice and cold. Looked like **** with a dented door and scratches but it had a great story so we kept it for another 5 years before it finally gave up the ghost. Sears may not know how in the hell to run a store these days but they made some tough fridges back in the day.

'back in the day' is right. We had one that only lasted 19 months. Guess how long the warranty lasted?

Thanks Mick. The only thing it is missing is KDSS suspension. That is a feature that is somewhat hard to find in the lots. I do appreciate the effort!!
