This is my last visit to my in-laws cabin. It smells like wet dog and month old sweat socks

Dog smell... none here, but last night I could tell the difference between garlic and cinnamon and a clean jar for the first time in a week. Got a whiff of coffee when I opened the bean jar this morning, been missing that. Last night's dinner tasted really good, too. But the not covid head congestion isn't letting go without a fight and my energy took a vacation.

Judging from how much of the smoke made it here, must be a hell of lot of forest burned in Canada. Bob will be able to tell us after his ride if it smells, my nose isn't that good yet. Minnesota is under an "unprecedented" air quality alert till Tuesday.

O the joy of home ownership . I got the last piece of deck off and discovered that the original construction methods were doomed to fail. This unfortunately are the results of always going with the lowest bid . My general contractor was a good friend of mine but was more budget focused than making sure the job was done right. Clearly this one was not. Not to say that any job will last forever ( see commentary above).

Plenty of flashing but no sealant

Hopefully the water damage is limited to the osb siding.
