Speaking of wiring skills......Had a couple issues during our Florida trip due to the prolonged running in the heavy-heavy rain we encountered. 1st issues I ever had, on the fuglybike, that were due to the rain.
Once things dried out, everything returned to normal, with the exception of the clutch perch neutral safety switch not working. Guess I'll have to look at that sooner or later.

...and the lack of properly positioned zip ties tells us that a true professional was not involved in this upgrade

Do you see that exposed conducter going into the wire nut? Just pure lazy I tell you.

They probably would have been the wrong color anyway.

Pro Tip-Put heat shrink on BEFORE joining the wires, and if soldering, make sure it is far enough downstream that it isn't heated up by the soldering and begins to shrink.

I'd suggest going with generous amounts of liquid electrical tape

Just got my two miles in ...Sweating like a stuck pig ... I wonder if shrink wrap would d o the same purpose ???
