Carol is interrupting again, so still a few pages back. I really enjoy my time alone.
Yes, I can make symmetrical pancakes! Photo proof. You'll never guess how I did it.

10 miles or so from my local dealer I get total voltage regulator failure with the voltmeter needle solidly pegged at 16 V. I swung into the dealer, tested and they had 1 on the shelf, installed it and now were all good to go.
I have my glad face on

Well we went to the range this morning. That place was packed! Fortunately there was one set of pistol ranges open, so we took it over for about 45 minutes. Got the son-in-law sorted out and set up. He went through a box of 50 shells and pretty much tore up a target! Between my son and I, we loaded his mind with all sorts of safety stuff, how to, and answered questions. SIL did well. We shot from 21 feet and he pretty much had all paper on a 14" square target. So step 1 down. I fired my new Shield....just ran a magazine through....didn't have too many shells. It is pretty much what I expected. Son fired his 45, 9mm, and 380. He let SIL fire the 45 so he could get a feel on something different. I told him we need at least another trip out to the range and then he should start looking for a CPL class to get the legal side and more training. We stopped by a sporting goods store on our way back and I picked up 2 boxes of 50 9mm for $21 ea. Best price I've seen in quite a while. Too bad that's about all they had. But I'll keep checking.
We had a good day. Rained like hell for a few minutes. But they have an overhead at the front of the range. SIL was happy, he was comfortable. So all is well.
Chuck.... sounds like that would be fun shooting a metal!! Our range is pretty simple with 4x4 uprights with 2x4 crossbars and plywood backing for targets. They get trashed pretty much twice a year and get replaced. Practice, practice, practice!!

Mick and Chuck, I have Ram mounts on my bike, but for GPS. I'm a bit leery of putting my phone up on the bars. Not afraid to lose it, I have an X-mount with the rubber straps, but afraid the vibration will wreak havoc on it. Usually phone is in either vest/jacket pocket, bag mount, or on my hip in its holster. Am I over thinking the vibration thing??
