Good evening all. Two miles up from the house, the road we live off of ties into the state road where there is a Speedway gas station. They have a picnic table in the corner next to the road and everyday there are bikes parked there. I see the same ones and the same folks all the time. it is a meeting place for a lot of riders and then there are the regulars that are there pretty much daily. Today as I was riding by I glanced over and saw a blue and white Harley and immediately recognized it as one of the new Icon Electra Glide. I spun around and went back to get a good look. This was the first time I have seen one in the wild. I have to say after a close inspection I was quite disappointed. Not that is was not a nice new Harley but it was not as expected. Here's my assessment.

First the seat is just the same police seat that has been on Harley police bikes for years now. They just put white white vinyl around the edge but otherwise same seat. The seat rail is probably off some model as well. Then there is the Electra Glide badge on either side of the front fender, same badge right off the shelf. Long story short Harley just bolted on 3-4 shelf parts, called it an Icon series and put a $30K price tag on it. I guess I was expecting more.
