Second morning all. Post jits check in. First time on the mats in 2 weeks since the neck/shoulder injury. It went okay. My neck reminded me when I was going too hard.

I remember as a kid working with my brother in law unloading that soil pipe ( black ) and stocking it in the shop ... that was some heavy stuff ... He taught me how to make the joints with "oakum rope" and lead .. and cutting pipe with a chain

Yup, that's exactly why I think it's the joint. The oakum breaks down and the lead can crack. On a dry vertical pipe that kind of joint will last forever. But a horizontal pipe in contact with earth may not. I'll find out, that's for sure.
